What are the main functions of the circulatory system?

Two requirements of any organism are obtaining the nutrients and removal of waste materials.

Explanation:

In large multicellular organisms, most of the individual cells are not capable of performing these functions independently.

In large animals, the circulatory system does this function. The blood receives food from the intestine and oxygen from lungs and distributes them to the tissues.

The blood also accepts waste products and carries them into skin, lungs and kidneys, from where they are excreted.
