# What are the products when sodium hydroxide reacts with nitric acid?

Jul 1, 2017

$\text{Sodium nitrate and water.......}$
$N a O H \left(a q\right) + H N {O}_{3} \left(a q\right) \rightarrow N a N {O}_{3} \left(a q\right) + {H}_{2} O \left(l\right)$
Of course $N a N {O}_{3} \left(a q\right)$ is present in solution as $N {a}^{+}$ + $N {O}_{3}^{-}$..........Nitrate salts tend to be VERY soluble in aqueous solution.
