What are the steps of DNA transcription?

1 Answer

DNA double helix unzips and uncoils as the hydrogen bond between them breaks.

Freely activated RNA nucleotides pairs up with just one exposed strand making sure that they pair up with the complementary base only.

As the nucleotides are aligned, sugar phosphate groups of the neighbouring nucleotides pair up forming sugar phosphate backbone.

So, a new single stranded nucleotide is formed called as a mRNA, which has the codes of the particular DNA copied.
