In summer, The land and mountain heat and cool sooner than the water of ocean due to the more specific heating capacity of water.
Air pressure is less over land and mountains than over oceans. Now, the moist air blows from oceans to land which is called wet or summer monsoon. The rain is called monsoon rain. Monsoon rain occurs between April to October. Mid- monsoon causes heavy rain that occurs between June to August. Pre- monsoon (before mid-monsoon) and late- monsoon (after mid- monsoon) causes less rainfall.
