Venus has a very high percentage(96%) of carbon dioxide in its atmosphere. It traps the heat from the sun and the numerous volcanic eruptions on the surface.

Explanation:

This happens due to it being a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases have a property of allowing heat radiation to enter but not allowing the heat to escape.
