Explanation:

Solids, liquids, and gases? Now most elements are METALS, and only one or two of these are liquid, and none are gaseous. There are only a couple of elemental liquids...and 10-12 or so elemental gases. Of course, should we classify them according to their physical state, we specify standard conditions of temperature and pressure.
