# What does it mean to order a set of real numbers?

Mar 23, 2015

Ordering a set of real numbers means arranging them in relative value order.

For example given the set
$\left\{72. 14.5 , 91.3 , 6.8 , 12\right\}$

a corresponding ordered set would be:
$< 6.8 , 12 , 14.5 , 72 , 91.3 >$
