The introduction of taxes and the Boston Tea Party
Explanation:
After 1764, a series of taxes were imposed on the colonists(on stamps, sugar, tea). A monopoly was bestowed upon the East India Company. In 1773 a rebellion burst in Boston, they threw boxes of tea in the ocean as they had disguised themselves in Indians. The rebellion against taxes was justified by the fact that colonists had no representaion in Parliament, it explains the slogan "no taxation without representation".
