What impact did the formation of NATO and the Warsaw Pact have on military spending?

Explanation:

-1- The countries in alliance spent more in military.
-2- It was more focused on making nuclear weapon, more powerful than the enemy countries in the other treaty.
-3- If there was a issue in one of the countries in organisation the top nations (USA& USSR) had to send the military and help the countries in the organisation which resulted in more military expenses.
