Quite a bit.


With an elemental sample you can detect isotopes, abundance and calculate relative atomic mass.

If the sample is molecular you can obtain the relative molecular mass.

If ionisation is achieved through electron impact then fragmentation can occur. Identifying the fragments helps elucidate structure. If electrospray ionisation is used then no fragmentation occurs.
