#2000# move left 3 places #->2*10^3#
#85000# move left 4 places #->8.5*10^4#

Multiply the numbers: #2*8.5=17#
Add the 10-powers: #10^3*10^4=10^(3+4)=10^7#

Answer: #17*10^7#

Normalise to SN: move one to the left:
#=1.7*10^(7+1)=1.7*10^8#

Decimal this would be: #170,000,000#
And you could do this by multiplying 2 and 85, and adding the zeroes from both numbers.
