The body constantly absorbs and replaces bone tissues, when someone has osteoporosis creation of new bones cannot keep up with the removal of old bone tissue therefore the bones are left thin and fragile. It cannot be cured but there are treatments that can help greatly and it usually effect adults over the age of 60.
