A caricature is a portrayal of someone which greatly exaggerates that person's faults, shortcomings or odd features
Explanation:
Many of Dickens characters are caricatures. For example his portrayal of Dickens, based on a Jewish "fence" of the time Ikey Solomon, was so exaggerated and stereotypical that it brought complaints indeed outrage from the Jewish community. Dickens responded by including a "good" Jewish character in Our Mutual Friend, Simon Riah.
