Parallelism is a literary device in which parts of a sentence are grammatically the same or similar in construction.

This can be seen in Their Eyes were Watching God. For example,

So Janie waited a bloom time, and a green time and an orange time.

See the pattern here? The pattern is "a(n) _ time", and this is repeated throughout the sentence. This is parallelism.
