What is cacophony's use or purpose in poetry?
One fish, Two fish
Red fish, blue fish - Dr. Seuss
Use of cacophony results in repeated hard (clacking) sounds which set up a rhythmic beat that can be heard in the listening or experienced in the reading of poems utilizing the stylization.
You cannot read the poem without being caught up in the beat.
This type of poem would be used to describe or incite action, as opposed to a lullaby which would have the opposite effect.
