What is "religious dialogue"?

"Religious dialogue" sounds a bit like doublespeak to me. Depends on the context.

Explanation:

Dialogue is a conversation between 2 or more people. If used in the context of "religious dialogue" between 2 or more religions or people about religion. Doublespeak is deliberately euphemistic, obscure, or ambiguous language. To me doublespeak seems to cover it.

Since neither representatives of either religion is going to give an inch about anything "religious dialogue" is generally so much hot air.

That being said I have seen constructive conversations between religious groups about common problems.
