# What is the arsenate formula?

Arsenate is the arsenic equivalent of phosphate, i.e. salts of $P {O}_{4}^{3 -}$.
And thus $\text{arsenate} = A s {O}_{4}^{3 -}$. And just as ${H}_{3} P {O}_{4} \equiv \text{phosphoric acid}$, ${H}_{3} A s {O}_{4} \equiv \text{arsenic acid}$.
