The Zionist movement was established at the end of the 19th century by Chaim Weizmann and Theodor Herzl. With the collapse of the Roman Empire Jews had been displace throughout Europe Africa and Asia, the diaspora and had suffered persecution throughout history.

A combination of circumstances for example the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the Final Solution led to the creation of Israel by the UN in May 1948.
