What is the difference between an electrostatic generators and electric generators?

Electrostatic generators, like a Van der Graff generator produces charge by friction or induction.

Whereas an electric generator produces current by electromagnetic induction; whereby a coil of conductor material(like copper) is made to cut across magnetic field lines.
