Correlation studies the cause and effect relation between variables and association studies the cause and effect relationship between attributes.


An attribute is a characteristic which is counted for its presence or absence.
For example, wearing glasses is an attribute.
Male or female is an attribute
A characteristic that can be measured is a variable.
For example, height is a variable. Weight is variable.
