Excretion is the elimination of nitrogen containing products from the metabolism.
Defecation is the complete elimination of undigested food and other waste product.

Explanation:

Excretion aids in cleaning up the metabolism and removing any unwanted products, like 75% of the air we breathe in is nitrogen and foods such as fish and other seafood contain nitrogen. All of this is not needed, and must be removed. The respiratory system removes the Nitrogen in the air, and excretion removes the nitrogen in food and other products through sweat, urine, and sometimes feces.

Defecation is the removal of all the waste and undigested food out of the alimentary canal through the anus.
