# What is the formula for sodium sulfate?

$N {a}_{2} S {O}_{4}$
The sulfate ion, $S {O}_{4}^{2 -}$ is a very common ion counter ion, and has some aqueous solubility. In sulfate, the formal oxidation state of the sulfur is $V {I}^{+}$, and the negative charges are assumed to be distributed to the oxygen centres. Bisulfates, $H S {O}_{4}^{-}$, are also very common.
