let #AC=AB#
#x+8=2x-1#
#8=x-1#
#x=9#

We want to find the length of #BC#, which is #(3x-3)#. We know that #x=9#

#BC=3x-3#
#BC=3(9)-3#
#BC=27-3#
#BC=24#
