What is the magnitude of the average acceleration of the ball during this time interval? (Note: 1 ms = 10-3 s.)

A 55.0 g superball traveling at 29.0 m/s bounces off a brick wall and rebounds at 18.0 m/s. A high-speed camera records this event. If the ball is in contact with the wall for 3.50 ms, what is the magnitude of the average acceleration of the ball during this time interval? (Note: 1 ms = 10-3 s.)

Average acceleration is defined as = change in velocity/total time taken for the change

Here, change in velocity = #18-(-29) m/s = 47 m/s# (considering the initial direction of motion of the ball to be negative)

So,average acceleration = #47/(3.50*10^-3)=13428.6 m/s^2#
