What is the parallax effect?

When an observer changes his position#"^color (red)!# there is apparent change in the position of the observed object. This is called parallax effect or simply parallax.


Example of parallax effect.

In the above animation the distant objects appear to move slowly in comparison to the objects nearer to you.

#"^color (red)!#The change in position of the observer could be due to the movement of observer, or of the observed object or of both.
