Percent yield is the mass of the actual yield divided mass of the theoretical yield times 100.

Percent yield = (mass of actual yield/mass of theoretical yield x 100)

For example, the theoretical yield of a reaction is 8.5g and the actual yield is 6.2g.

Percent yield = (6.2g/8.5g) x 100 = 73%
