# What is the polarity of SiCl_4?

........molecular polarity is given by the VECTOR sum of the individual ""^(+delta)Si-Cl^(delta-) dipoles. For a tetrahedral molecule this vector sum is clearly ZERO. Agreed? And thus $S i C {l}_{4}$, just as is ${\text{CCl}}_{4}$, is a non-polar molecule.
Is $H S i C {l}_{3}$ non-polar?
