The function of bile is to aid in the digestion of fats in the duodenum.

Explanation:

Bile salts and acids, phospholipids, cholesterol, bile pigments, electrolytic chemicals and water constitute bile.

Bile salts and acids emulsify fats and reduce surface tension on fat droplets, thus preparing them for further digestion.

Bile fluids ( in which bile salts and acids are transported) serves to neutralise the hydrochloride acid that passes from stomach to the small intestine.
It also carries water insoluble wastes such as cholesterol, steroids, drugs and haemoglobin pigments ( which the liver removes from the blood) to the excretory system.

Bile is necessary for the internal absorption of vitamin K.
