What is the reducing agent in the reaction #2HCl(aq)+H_2O_2(aq)->Cl_2(g)+2H_2O(l)?#

I wrote chlorine as my original answer, since this has an oxidation state of -1 initially and 0 afterward. Where have I gone wrong? Thanks

HCl is the reducing agent, because it oxidized itself and reduced another.

Explanation:

The one that gains the oxygen is the oxidized one, and the one that is oxidized is the reducing agent as it took it's oxygen from another compound, reducing the compound it took from.
