Parallel lines have the same slope.

When in standard form, $A x + B y = C$, the slope of a linear equation can be found using the expression $- \frac{A}{B}$.

$A = 5$
$B = - 1$

$m = - \left(\frac{A}{B}\right) = - \left(\frac{5}{- 1}\right) = 5$
