What is the small sac under the liver?
Gall bladder is a small sac situated below the liver in the upper-right portion of the abdomen. It is pear-shaped. And its main function is to store and concentrate bile (a yellow-green fluid secreted by the liver, helps in digestion of fats).
Wall of gall bladder particularly contracts to deliver bile in small intestinal lumen after we take a meal. Bile is essential for emulsification of dietary fat.
