Explanation:

For transmission of power we use high voltage.This wil;l reduce loss due to Resistance..So we can use a step up transformer primary and secondary winding are done in a iron core...For step up we will have more number winding in secondary winding..ASt the load center wgain we reduce voltage suitable for domestic use,here we use step down transformer.IN addition CT and PT are used for measurements and protection.enter image source here .pictuire credit meji electric.
