What kind of government did West Germany form after WWII? How about Japan?

1 Answer

Democratic Governments

Explanation:

West Germany: After the known fall of the Third Reich (at the Battle for Berlin), there were 2 states formed in Germany. The Eastern Germans (the Communist satellite), and the Western Germans (Democratic Government). This was referred to as the "Federal Republic of Germany" (or Bundesrepublik Deutschland), wherein it was established from the 11 Allied controlled zones under their occupation. This was essentially another democratic nation in the world, with free and fair elections, joined NATO, and all the other such democratic prerequisites.

Japan: After the 2 nuclear explosions in Hiroshima and Nagasaki (almost a 3rd one in Tokyo by the way), Japan was yet another democratic republic formed. The difference, however, is that firstly they started the Tokyo Trials (wherein the Empire's officials were convicted), but Hirohito was allowed to remain an emperor (only in name of course, a figurehead).
