Clearly, #"MPK"#, #"methyl propyl ketone"#, is structurally distinct to #"diethyl ketone"#. And yet both have the same molecular formula...#C_5H_10O#...and the same functionality. The functionality occurs on a different point on the chain. As I recall both have similar boiling points so they are hard to separate.
