Explanation:

Large number of rocks having size of 1000 KM to small pebbles orbit in between mars and Jupiter.Jupiter mass of asteroids in the belt is about 4% that of Earth's Moon. Largest asteroid now named dwarf planet Ceres s about 950 KM in size.enter image source here
