Water Displacement

Explanation:

This is due to the fact that irregularly shaped objects can not be measured with a ruler. Water displacement is used. In which a graduated cylinder is filled with water (100 mL) and the object is then put inside. Depending on how much the water rise after the object has been placed inside the cylinder the volume can then be calculated. If the new water level is (120 mL) we now know that the object has a volume of 20 mL.
