Confucianism is an atheistic religion. There is no God in Confucianism. Ancestor worship is the core of Confucianism. Other religions have influenced China but none as much as Confucianism.

Behaving in a such a way not to bring dishonor to the ancestors has traditionally been the motivating moral force in Chinese culture. in the past Chinese homes would have had a shrine to the ancestors. Modern China no longer actively worships the ancestors but the tradition of honor to the ancestors remains.
