Explanation:

We want to solve

#lim_(x->-2)(x^3+8)/(x+2)#

Which is the indeterminate form #0/0#,

and therefore we can apply LH's rule

#lim_(x->a)f(x)/g(x)=lim_(x->a)(f'(x))/(g'(x))#

Thus:

#lim_(x->-2)(3x^2)/(1)=3(-2)^2=12#
