Soleus and gastrocnemius

Explanation:

The distal tendons of soleus and gastrocnemius muscles form the Achilles tendon.

The gastrocnemius muscle is what's commonly referred to as the calf muscle and has two bellies. Its action is to flex the knee and plantarflex the ankle. The soleus is deep to the gastrocnemius and only plantarflexes the ankle. Both are innervated by the tibial nerve.
