The Era of Good Feelings was a a period from approximately 1815 -1823, during the presidency of James Monroe.

Explanation:

The United States had just "won" a war against England. The Peace Treaty favored the United States. The final battle of the war of 1812 fought in 1814, the battle of New Orleans was a decisive victory for the US. ( the battle was actually found after the peace treaty was actually signed). There was a feeling of national pride and accomplishment due to the success of US in the war against the powerful British Empire.

The Federalist party that had opposed the war with the British was so unpopular that the nation was united behind one party, Thomas Jefferson's Democratic Republican Party. The lack of political infighting contributed to the feeling of good feelings.

The Louisiana Purchased had opened up large tracts of new land for people to settle in. The United States was more focused on national expansion and growth than sectional strife that would dominate the time between 1825 and the beginning of the Civil War.
