What was the eventual result of the Crusades?

The Crusades resulted in the defeat of the Europeans and the victory of the Muslims.

However, the more important result of the Crusades is the diffusion and the spread of knowledge.

If the Crusades didn't happen, the European knights would have never seen the huge advancements of the Muslims and they would have never brought back some of their products.

Therefore, the Crusades sparked greater interactions and sparked an idea of discovery and exploration that would come later.
