Treaty of Versailles (signed 28 June 1919)

Explanation:

At the Paris Peace Conference, terms for the Treaty were drafted and discussed, with the "Big Four" heading the meeting: The UK, United States, Italy, and France. Ideas such as the League of Nations, self determination, and control of seas were discussed. In addition, there was the big question of what would be done about Germany. Ironically, Germany was not present at the conference...this led to resentment later on, which would fuel Hitler's rise to power. Germany was forced to pay reparations and accept full responsibility for the war, also leading to contempt amongst the Germans.
