The Korean War ended with a demilitarized zone and a signing of an armistice.

Explanation:

The Korean Armistice Agreement was signed on July 27, 1953 in order to negotiate permanent peace between North and South Korea. This technically means that the two countries are still at war, as neither have signed any peace treaties to end the hostilities.

The Korean Demilitarized Zone was created to be like a buffer between North and South Korea. It approximately splits the Korean peninsula in half, and acts as the border between the two countries.

No real winner emerged victorious from the Korean War. The sole reason why American soldiers were in Korea was to stop the spread of communism. The Soviet Union and China succeeded in making at North Korea a communist state, which is still apparent today.
