# Where are the alkali metal elements found on the periodic table?

Where else but in $\text{Group 1?}$
The $\text{Periodic Table}$ divides the 100 of so known elements into vertical columns, so-called $\text{Groups}$, and so-called $\text{Periods}$, horizontal rows. The $\text{Groups}$ and $\text{Periods}$ fill on the basis of repetitive electronic structure. Members of the same $\text{Group}$ display reasonably similar chemistry.
Members of $\text{Group 1}$ are the so-called $\text{alkali metals: lithium; sodium; potassium; rubidium........}$
