Ferritin is found largely in skeletal muscles, the liver, the spleen, and bone marrow. Small quantities are found in blood.

Explanation:

Ferritin is a protein that binds to blood for the purpose of storing iron. Most of the iron in the body is to be found bound to ferritin.

The levels of ferritin in blood are indicative of overall iron levels and are used in tests to determine iron insuffiency (anaemia) , iron sufficiency, or iron oversufficiency (haemochromatosis).
