Which areas receive the most direct sunlight: the North pole, the South pole, the temperate zone or the tropical zone?

I am working with the assumption that by direct sunlight you are referring to areas where the sunlight is striking the Earth at a 90 degree angle. In this case nothing outside of the tropics receives any direct sunlight.

You can see in the above picture that that the Tropic of Cancer is the line that marks the northernmost position that the sun's light hits the Earth at a 90 degree angle. The Tropic of Capricorn is the southernmost.
It is important to note that all parts of the Earth receive sunlight for the same duration, 50 % of the time, but sometimes the sunlight is at a very low angle.
