But in terms of nuclear reactions, MASS is certainly NOT conserved. And because of the mass/energy equivalence in Einstein's famous equation, energy is ALSO NOT conserved.
Electric charge, however, is CONSERVED....and I seem to remember this as a consequence of any field theory....anyway I urge you to consult a physics text.
