Explanation:
The thyroid produces the hormones T3 and T4, which the body uses to regulate metabolism.
When the levels of T3 and T4 are too low, the pituitary gland produces TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) to get the thyroid producing more T3 and T4.
It's the hypothalamus that tells the pituitary gland to release TSH. It does so by releasing TRH (TSH Releasing Hormone).
