He was an internationalist

Explanation:

Lenin just like Karl Marx was an internationalist, he indeed thought that an intertional revolution was necessary to wipe out capitalism. Capitalism was seen as inherently international by them, it had spread throughout the world with European colonization.

Lenin hoped that Russia would become an example for the rest of the world and the working classes in every country would rise and help socialism triumph everywhere. A wave of strikes swept through Western Europe after the Bolshevik Revolution, but they failed in leading to the overthrowing of capitalism. An uprising led by the Spartacists in Germany was crushed by the Social Democrats in 1919.

The First internationale had been created by Karl Marx in 1864 and Lenin created a new one. The exportation of the Bolshevik Revolution became a major source of dispute between Trotsky and Stalin since Stalin refused it unlike Trotsky. Stalin ended up victorious in taking the lead of the Soviet Union. Trotsky was forced into exile.
