As these mountains are the result of India colliding with Asia but there is no appreciable plate subduction.

Explanation:

India has been moving north towards Asia for about 40 million years. About 15 million years ago India collided with Asia, the crust buckled up to form the mountains, but the crust was not sub ducted downwards. When plates get sub ducted downward, there tends to be associated volcanism.
